Computer Technical Support
Have you ever needed computer technical support? From what I hear this is a rather common need in the world we all currently share. Folks around the globe are constantly in need of computer technical support for their PCs and Macs. Now, I'm not going to lie to you. I have needed help with my PC in the past. However, it typically has to do with the Internet access more than anything else. Why am I getting kicked off line? Time Warner really does need to upgrade their system. Maybe the dilemma lies in their masses of customers. After all, they are the biggest in the business. Anyway, computers are electronic wonders that have truly become and imperative aspect of our lives. We can't help it. We were all hooked from day one. These days we use our personal computers so much that it would be a massive burden to suddenly be without them. How would you manage without yours?
My older brother works in the computer technical support business. He is a computer technician for a University. This basically means that whenever any student has a computer issue regarding hardware or software, he can lend them a helping hand. He's great at this. I should know; he's helped me out on several occasions. However, now that I have a Mac, things aren't the same. You see, he works day-in and day-out on PCs. These have a slightly different construction than Macs. I wish I'd known this. I always assumed I would continue to call him for computer technical support. He is the only computer nut I know. I've witnessed him disassemble and reassemble them a number of times. Them being PCs of course. Now I am basically in hot water. My warranty has expired and there is no way I want to drop another 1200 on a Mac laptop. I desperately need some free computer technical support for Macs.
Were you aware that you can easily get on the web for computer technical support? It's true; you can hop online and solve a number of your computer issues just by reading. This is free computer technical support. Now, you should keep in mind that it will not solve any and all problems, but it will provide plenty of troubleshooting advice. In reality this is generally all it takes. Acquire the computer technical support you need now online.
Wireless Internet Service Provider
Every work-at-home mom dreams about owning a laptop. This prize is sought after by anyone who needs to get in as many hours on the computer as she can while juggling the many other duties whirling around her. In my quest for the right laptop I discovered that I need to find a wireless Internet service provider as well.
This is something I hadn’t considered during my many daydreams of working on my new laptop while my daughter played in our yard. Actually, I had no idea that a wireless Internet service provider even existed until I toyed with purchasing a laptop of my own. I wasn’t even sure how to define what this Internet provider would do.
In order to figure out exactly how this worked, I decided to consult the World Wide Web for some answers. I discovered that a wireless Internet service provider will install a network of services in homes as well as businesses and public buildings like airports. Hotels are commonly equipped with a network installed by a wireless Internet service provider. The technology is just about everywhere.
The great thing about the wireless Internet service providers is that they create what is known as “hot spots”. These areas are useful for anyone who owns a laptop because the portable computer can be used in these places. I love the idea of typing away while my daughter is a swim practice. I can work and show my support all at the same time.
Here is where my daydream turned into a fog. For some reason, I had difficulty understanding how I could take my laptop to these hot spots and use it if I were away from my own wireless Internet service provider at home. This kind of thought can give me a headache but I do like to try and understand how things work.
It is important for me to know how a wireless Internet service provider functions because I am making an investment in the laptop. I hate to own something that is a complete mystery to me. From what I understand, I just subscribe to the service and the company takes it from there.
You may wonder why there is so little to tell about my research. Actually, wireless Internet service providers are quite new. The technology is still in a relatively early stage of development. So for now, I only know that I want a laptop and I know I can use it at home as well as in some hot spots in the community and I’m pretty satisfied with that.
Computers in Schools
I am always amazed when I take a gander at today's school systems. I mean, sure they have their flaws, but they also offer plenty of wonderful nuances. And I'm just comparing them to my high school back in the early 90s. One of the great aspects of today's learning centers involves computers. Not only do they now offer computers in schools, but they even put them in the classrooms. That's sweet if you ask me. I would have loved to have had a computer in my classroom back in elementary school. Imagine the cool learning games that could be played. Yes indeed folks, schools are sure changing.
What do you think about computers in schools? Do you think they are a wonderful learning tool, or a mere distraction for the students? This is a major concern for some. I was surprised after speaking with my mother who does not condone computers in schools. I could hardly grasp why she felt this way. However, she feels that knowledge should come from the texts and the teacher. Oh well, what can you do; the woman went to a country school in the 40s. I'm sure things were much different on many levels back then. You know with the whole trudging to school through the 6 foot deep snow and all. Regardless of my mother's views on computers in schools, I must still support the use of PCs and Mac for learning tools in classrooms and media centers. It just makes sense if you truly sit down and think about it. No single source is going to offer you more knowledge and information than a contemporary computer with Internet access.
Do you have PCs or Macs in your school? This is something I've noticed that varies from school to school. Although we had PCs in my University back in Oregon, my daughter has Macs in her elementary school. Each school must strike a deal with the companies or something. Regardless, they do virtually the same things in my opinion. Although Macs tend to be a little simpler to operate for some. So, when it comes down to the issue of computers in schools, I think it's safe to say that this is a prudent additive to any learning environment. To find out what computers are in your child's school, simply take a look around. That's what I did.
Computer Repair
You’ve seen the advertisements on television for computer repair companies that send folks right to your home. Geek Squad is a popular one, and they claim to be the only help you need. Honestly, I’ve never used them for computer repair, but I can say that I have heard mixed reviews. There are some very happy customers out there, and there are also some people who are fuming at the memory of what happened to their computers. If you need someone for computer repair, it might not matter so much what they can do, it’s what you choose to do before they even arrive.
You can call up those like the Geek Squad, and they will come to your home for computer repair. Just remember that this is going to cost you, and it may cost you more than just the hourly fee. You can also find someone who does computer repair in his or her home or office, and you simply have to take it in and drop it off. The biggest concern you have is what will happen to your data while your computer is in someone else’s hands. The only way you can be sure your information is safe is by saving it yourself. Never leave this up to anyone else. If you don’t know how to do it, learn. You should back up your computer information on a weekly or even daily basis, not just before you take your machine in for computer repair.
That being said, if you have your information backed up, you don’t have to be so worried when you need computer repair. Your next worry is price and experience. Quite often these go hand in hand. The more experience a person has, the more they can charge. Experience isn’t everything, but it can mean the difference between computer repair and computer destruction. Go to someone with a good reputation for quality computer repair, and worry about the price later.
If you are looking for a good paying career, computer repair might be just what you need. You can make good money if you know what you are doing, and you can find training in almost any city. If you want to go into computer repair, remember that you will do well if you have a mind for details, can figure out complicated problems, and have a knack for using computers. It’s not for everyone, but if you find it’s the career for you, you can make a lot of money in computer repair, and you can at times pick and choose where you want to work.
Cheapest Broadband
I have had nothing but trouble with my Internet service provider since I switched to AOL Broadband. I did it because they advertised that they were the cheapest broadband. At the time, I was using Comcast, which up to a bit before that had been the only game in town. Now that there were other services available, it sure was not the cheapest broadband. Unfortunately, the amount of cash that I saved by using AOL just was not worth the hassle and aggravation of that awful service. I must try to remember in the future, that having cheap broadband is not all that great of a thing if the broadband that you have is really awful.
It is always hard to say what the cheapest broadband is in any area at the time, since it depends on a variety of factors. There are some times when a broadband service will be cheap, but will require you to buy the modem. Other times, the cheapest broadband available will also have the unfortunate drawback of making you buy six months of service at once, which is a totally awful position to have to be in. Still other times, a normally expensive broadband service, be it Cable or DSL, will have a special promotion in the area where they will be offering the cheapest broadband around for a limited time to get people signed up. Really, it all depends, and what is cheap one day may well be pretty costly a day or two after that.
It makes a lot of sense to find the cheapest broadband provided that you do not have to sign a contract to stay with it. If you do, you may live to regret it. Once you have signed the contract, you are quite simply stuck for months at a time, even if the service is lousy or worthless. The bottom line is that you should be quite sure that what you have works before you agree to go for it in the long run. That is the only way that you can afford the awful inconvenience of substandard services that I had to go through myself. And, while I am on the subject, let me tell you to never use AOL Broadband. They will make your life a living hell if you try to quit, deliberately pestering you to try to get you to give up in your attempt to cancel services.
All in One Printers
Buying all in one printers is a really important thing for every office nowadays. Think about it. Your workplace probably now has an inkjet printer, a copier, barcode printers, perhaps a scanner, and a computer. That is a lot of office equipment, and the bigger your office is, the more space it will take up. Using all in one printers really eliminates the need to have so much different equipment, because it combines all of the most important office tools into one easy to use machine. Think about it. An all in one printer can be used as a scanner, or it can be used as a copier, or it can be used as a normal printer. Many all in one printers can even be used as fax machines, meaning that a huge amount of money is saved by using this simple and versatile piece of machinery.
Another advantage about using the best all in one printers over the normal range of office machinery is that there is so much less to go wrong. It is a fact that equipment breaks down from time to time, and the more equipment, the bigger the possibility of a break down. It is just a rule that the more that can go wrong, the more that will go wrong. And while it is unreasonable to expect people to know the ins and outs of the printer, the scanner, the copier, and the fax machine, everyone can learn how to operate one simple all in one printer. Also, because all in one printers are a pretty recent innovation, they tend to be better designed and more durable than are most copiers. They have more sleek, updated designs, that take up a whole lot less space, and this can really help.
The one disadvantage of all in one printers is that they tend not to make copies as economically as a copier does. In general, it costs a good bit more for you to buy the ink to feed them, and this translates into much more expensive copies. But of course, there is a very easy solution to this problem that, unless you are receiving a lot of faxes, should solve your ink problems. You should simply have, in addition to all in one printers, a few fax machines that can be used for large projects. This will no doubt cut your costs by a whole lot.
Animated Mouse Cursors
Having animated mouse cursors can really do a huge amount to help you in spicing up your computer desktop. The best thing about animated cursors is that you can get them for free. There are animated mouse cursors on almost any conceivable topic, and even tools out there to help you to make your own. For example, I used to be a great big fan of the cartoon Danger Mouse. I would always spend all day watching it as a child, and so when I grew up and moved away, I figured that I wanted to do something to remember this special part of my childhood. I found desktop Danger Mouse themes on the Internet, and installed them to make my system look spiffy. Now, every single time that it is loading, there is an animated mouse cursor showing the flying Danger Mouse car just cruising along with the famous mouse and his loyal assistant, Penfold, driving side by side. The mouse pointer itself is one of the animated mouse cursors. It shows Danger Mouse running along, probably pursuing some top secret mission from which he may never return.
Of course, there are animated cursors on many other topics as well. Some of the most popular, however, are other cartoons, movies, and tv shows. There are animated mouse cursors on both classics, and the modern hits. The most popular are science fiction programs, because they are just so popular with geeks. You can get animated mouse cursors depicting Doctor Who, Star Wars, any Star Trek you lie, Babylon 5, and any other famous science fiction show or movie by the thousands. It is like almost every fan that there is out there has to make his own animated mouse cursor to show his loyalty and dedication to whatever tv show that it is.
If there are no tv shows or movies that you are particularly into, you can still probably find animated mouse cursors which fit some of your own interests. Some of the current favorites show things like faces with different expressions. When it is loading, the face will make a concerned or bored expression, or maybe start to roll its eyes, until it is finished. Then the face will go back to its usual smile, or whatever animated cursor that you chose to be the default. There are endless hours of entertainment to be had from decorating and perfecting your computer desktop.
